No, the ticket was booked about two days ago. When viewing the reservation on nwa.com, I see Silver Elite next to my WP #, and when doing check-in/cancel I am asked if I want an upgrade (no dice, though).
The reason I'm expecting a notice, even when there is no availability, is the description of the Elite Upgrade Notification category on nwa.com: (

My NWA Info messages apply only to flights operated by Northwest, Compass, Mesaba or Pinnacle Airlines.
