Hmm, sounds like the kitchen staff was busying overcooking the sausage like they always do. Having your kitchen staff screw up and force an evacuation sounds like something I would expect a hotel/restaurant/etc to compensate for (going off the conjecture of the previous poster here). Imagine yourself at a nice restaurant. What if some clumsy sous chef scorched your foie gras to the point of the fire alarm being triggered? Upon returning to your seat, after waiting outside for 30 minutes, wouldn't you expect the manager to come over and offer some sort of drastic discount on your dinner bill? I see a 10k point bonus (what, maybe that costs $40 to the hotel?) as a reasonable gesture to make up for the problem at the hotel this morning.
