(AND NAME IN LOCAL LANGUAGE - particularly for Asian countries, most countries support the requisite character sets - showing a cabbie a hotel name and address written in English often doesn't help much)
but even though we're booked, Starwood thinks they need to market to us!

I agree, Starwood made the sale, so now give us some real info: everything moa999 said, plus:
  • nearest public transportation (ie: subway, train, etc.)
  • Cross street
  • phone number in text that can be seen on a mobile phone/Blackberry, NOT an image
  • Parking info/rates
  • Concierge desk phone number
  • Of course the name of the GM or Front Desk manager would be a nice touch, but understand that's not going to happen.
