Wow. You feel entitled to ask for compensation because an alarm went off? It could have been a malfunction, a smoke detector going off, someone pulling an alarm, or who knows what. The hotel's primary responsibility is to get everyone out until they understand what the situation is. Is it an inconvenience? Yes. Did the hotel do what it was supposed to? I would guess yes. I would be more likely to ask for compensation if the alarm DIDN'T go off when it was supposed to.
Yes, it's happens to me once a year. I pack up my laptop, put on some decent clothes, and head out to join everyone else in front of the building. It's always been a 'false alarm,' but this is one of those situations where it's literally better to be safe than sorry.
