Received a pleasant wake-up call this morning: a fire alarm and strobe light blaring in my room at 5:30 this morning. The entire hotel (which was probably close to full) had to vacate. It was evidently a false alarm. It is 6:08 now and I am finally back in my room, albeit with the strobe light still flashing (the alarm is off, fortunately). Has anyone experienced this at a big hotel chain before?

Now it is time to speculate about compensation. Need to catch a bit of shut-eye before I go find the GM...
