You incorrectly believe the person flying on an award ticket is also the person who earned the ticket. In my personal experience that is not true, and I believe that is not true for most award earners, especially those at or near CP-earning levels.

Edited to add one more thought: You already receive a reward for your patronage -- your award ticket.
