Early this month, I e-checked in on the HHonors web site then went to the hotel. When I got the front desk more than few hours later, my room wasn't ready (at 6:30pm) and they have no idea about my e-Check In on the web site. I explained front desk clark that I checked in on HHonors web site and my room is in __ floor, __view, etc., just room categolies I picked on the web e-check in screen. I didn't have the print out of e-Checked In with me (that was my mistake), so she has no idea and there are such room won't be available.
I called HHonors and they can't do anything and they transfared my call to 1-800 res. Of course 1-800 res cannot do anything either. Reps over the phone kept telling me "ask at hotel." Well, I was doing that, so I gave up.
About one hour later, I walked to front desk again and asked if they have something available for me, then I got finally got a room on the lowest guest room floor. I explaind that I booked "Executive room", but he said nothing else available...
Here is my question.
What is the benefit of doing e-Check In??
