I forgot to add that I don't have a car, at least not right now. If I did, I would park at ParkSFO since it's only a 3 day trip. The one way car rental is coming out anywhere from $85 and $100 for Avis and Hertz, respectively. For Hertz, it's a bit weird since the quotes on the website do not include any miles. Renting a car out of SFO is getting expensive now since they charge a $15 transportation & facilities fee per rental. Taxes and surcharges come up to be almost $30 for Avis. Another thing to consider is that I'm not 25 yet, so I need to use the corporate codes that waive the underage fee.

I am returning to SFO on 10/17. It seems that there aren't many other alternatives -- if I arrive late I'll have to justify the cost to my professor if he asks. Before I buy my plane tickets, I'll try to find out his travel plans as well to see if he's flying back on the same day to SFO, in which case I'll just catch a ride with him.
