From this passenger's POV, the cleanliness and upkeep of the interior defines an "old" plane. I could care less if the 777 I am in is 10 years old if it is fitted with a lie-flat business-class seat with a modern AVOD entertainment system. If you could figure out a way to put a SQ suite in a MD-80, I'd be a happy man!
