I would imagine not to many people want to go to Sudan for non-business/NGO purposes right now, but since early August I have been attempting to get a visa without an employers' inviation.

The problem is they never actually say no. Initially, I thought it was just a vetting proces to ensure one is not a journalist, but it seems to go beyond any logical gatekeeper process.

If anyone has any advice, please let me know.
