Lobby announcement today on my flight from ARN-HEL on Blue 1 (KF446) prior to boarding: "They forgot to board the meals today so you won't get any meal service if you are flying economy extra. Sorry."

It's only a 45 minute flight so the meal service can't be that special in any case, but if I had paid the extra (I didn't) I'd at least be looking for some money back! Apparently not the case for any of the other passengers, however.

Once on board, it turned out they had forgotten ALL the catering, not just the meals -- all the booze and soft drinks too. The FA's had a few large bottles of water and some orange juice, and did the best they could with that.

Does this happen often?
