I'm not a fan of WN, but found myself and SO flying them recently. The flight was originally only half full, so we didn't worry about boarding too quickly (we were in A group). Normally we would take an aisle and a window and how for an empty middle. Well, then they filled the flight with others that were from a cancelled flight, so we changed our strategy. We took aisle seats next to each other so this way neither of us had a middle seat. Worked well for us.

When traveling on business I usually book this way with a co-worker.
