I believe you have been given incorrect information. A revalidation is something that can be done by the person you're speaking to within about 40 seconds. If they say its going to be done tomorrow then that's a reissue as it has been queued to a different deparftment. To be honest the person on the phone can't really say how long a reissue will take. The e-ticket department currently have a few thousand bookings on their queue and bookings are worked on on a date of travel priority so it may take a while depending on that.

You're correct. When I phoned BA yesterday evening the agent I spoke to used the word "revalidate" and asked to me hold for a couple of minutes while he did that, then to hold for a further 5 minutes, then finally said that the revalidation would be dealt with by the agent who had made the reservation and that she would phone me back this morning.
Not having received a phone call by the middle of the afternoon, I phoned BA back and was told this time that the e-ticket needs to be reissued and that this will take a few days.
