Everyone has his or her preferred time to shop. Analise is correct about mid-January in the sense that retailers, particularly of apparel, will be dumping the unsold winter season merchandise.
You are correct about "Black" Friday in the sense that there are some season kickoff sales.
I disagree with December 26 and 27, especially the 26th. On that day, retailers have to take in a lot of merchandise. "Turning around" that merchandise and making it ready for resale takes time.
