I was fooling around with a mileage run...SFO/NRT. There's the usual roundtrips, and one other:

You can fly 'legally' from SFO/IAD on United. Then from IAD to NRT on ANA. You still get the partner miles! That's over 9000 miles vs 5000 one way. Now if only it booked out at a reasonable $750.
