I consider any airline employee that interacts with pax and works on the aircraft CABIN CREW. Internal ranks and ego trips is not something pax should have to worry about.
Reminds me of a recent situation in J with Spanair where the crew took up all the over head luggage bins, meanwhile there were only 2 pax in the cabin. I asked why would they do that? Was told company policy... totally fabricated as I complained to ground crew upon arrival and they confirmed that is not company polcy..
