Most screeners won't hide their badges until you ask for their names, so they will leave themselves vulnerable to a sneak attack. Calling them by name out of the blue can be really effective.

This takes a certain degree of tradecraft which requires practice. Every time you go through a checkpoint or pass some of them on a break, try to pick a name and number off a badge or two.
This is exactly what I do! And I thought I was the only one. ^^^
