It's Alitalia (AZ)
According to their website:
http://www.alitalia.com/GB_EN/your_t...nger/index.htm
"Passengers who wish to transport their own wheelchairs (electric and/or folding) can register them free of charge at the check-in desk, as regular baggage."
Unlike others, I don't have a personal wheelchair that is calibrated to my specifications. One wheelchair is like any other for my own personal needs so I won't be insisting that I be allowed to use my own to get to the aircraft.
I'm expecting to be asked to check in the wheelchair and provided with an alternative which I will use at the airport. What I have no idea about is how long this process will take.
I'll be sure to take notes at LHR, FCO, MXP & NRT and report back - there's scant information about travelling with AZ or through NRT on the internet from non-official sources (at least none that I've been able to find, anyway)
