It's not just you; ANC is very understaffed for CSR's, in my opinion. It's rather amazing to me that AS would allow this to happen in what is probably their second-most important city behind SEA. The combination of the understaffing, the poor TSA set-up at Concourse C, and the fact that the "Airport of the Future" is more of a glorified marketing tool than anything resembling an efficient operation has taught me to get to get to ANC early and avoid checking luggage if I can ever help it. I'm sorry, AS: in the view of this Gold, it just flat out doesn't work that well.

The "Airport of the Future" also takes away any kind of express check-in benefit for MVP's/Golds/First Class.

What I think they should do is make the old fashioned ticket counter in the back of the check-in area a dedicated check-in for Elites and First Class.
