The prices will no doubt come down but I doubt anybody can predict when it'll be and by how much.

Perhaps you should consider hedging your bets and (for example) take 2 of your Aus trips on SQ (which should be enough to requalify for PPS) and the other 2on BA (1320 tier points; BA silver the 1st year; and just 180 tier points (which you can easily get with 3 Europe returns in J) short of gold the 2nd year) ?
In any event, presumably status isn't that important if you're going to be in F anyway...
