I find it interesting that many Asian cities continue to operate their old airports once a new international airport has "replaced" it. Haneda's possibly the most successful example of a "domestic" hub vs. an "international" one.

The ones that come to mind include:

Shanghai (Hongchiao's SHA to Pu Dong's PVG)
Seoul (SEL to ICN, although i'm not certain that SEL is still operating?)
Taipei (Sungshan in Taipei City to TPE out in Taoyuan)
Tokyo (HND to NRT)
All of those airports are still open to receive passenger traffic.

HND is one of the world's busiest airports to this day.
