Agreed^ I think its tacky as well unless your instructed to take it. For instance, once on a flight from DCA-ORD-SFO, I had an overnighter at ORD....me and the crew got to talking during the flight so they told me to take a "lot" of extra blankets and a few pillows because of how cold the airport gets...they simply said bring them back on the ORD-SFO flight the next morning...
