This would involve a level of logic and a well thought out credit approval/review process which has been entirely absent from my contacts with Amex YMMV.

To give one example BA Amex will not increase my credit limit (no big deal as I tend to spend on other cards except enough for the 2 for 1 voucher, and as I will be "moving" to Europe very shortly it wil be even less of an issue). The reason why they will not increase my limit is that they are relying on income figures they obtained 7 years ago. I could of course let them deal with my accountant (which would make him happier given that I would be paying for his time) but there really isn't much point, since I do not really need the extra credit limit.

I had always thought Amex were relatively sophisticated with credit control policies (given the no formal limit situation for charge cards) but I have been very surprised by their behaviour.
