I'm wondering if SQ are about to tell me they don't want my business? At the moment I travel 4 times a year to SIN/SYD in 1st. Each time the cost is approx GDP5500 inc taxes (which incidentailly is pretty much what BA/Qantas/Cathay all charge as well). Looking at the prices for 'Suites' (by making a dummy booking) from SIN/SYD vv the cost is approx AU$9800 for suites and AU$5400 for 1st.

So when LHR/SIN/SYD are all A380 sometime next year, if the ticket cost doubles to approx GDP11000 rtn, I can't afford it and will have to go to Cathy, BA or Qantas.

Can SQ really be serious about this, or will the prices drop when the 747's disapear and then the only two products are Business or Suites?

I appreciate that I am lucky to have this dilema, but if I'm going to have to use another carrier - I might as well start now and get status as quickly as possible.
