The web support agent wasn't lieing . . . DL.com cannot checkin an E-Ticket starting with the numbers 001 (American Airlines Ticket Stock). AA is not a partner. SkyTeam ticket stock is recognized and you can checkin using the online tool if the ticket stock was issued from a SkyTeam carrier. Unfortunately, all changes must also be taken up with AA.
