La Colombe, the famed beans used by certain Michelin 3*s in NYC has opened an NYC cafe outpost in Tribeca. Since I happen to be sitting in my room at the Rittenshouse Hotel in Philadelphia (one block from the original La Colombe in Philadelphia), I think I'll stop by for this one now before checking out the NYC locale this weekend.

DrivingRain, I'm liking La Colombe a lot, although their roast is a bit lighter than what I usually go for. So far I've tried a macchiato and a granita, both of which were good. The atmosphere is really nice and calm, and I like how they serve the hot drinks in proper china. Too bad they didn't open while I still worked around the corner... (although that probably saved me some money!)
