Well in all fairness to UA, SQ doesn't give out boarding pass holders at all, even when flying Business Class. Instead your baggage claim check is attached to a slip of paper. LX doesn't even offer the slip of paper, instead they attach your claim check to your passport.

IMHO, boarding pass holders don't serve much of a purpose, so if this is an area where UA is cutting back it wouldn't make me upset at all. Maybe they will reinvest the savings in expanding the meal windows in domestic F.
