I friend of mine (BA blue) that has over 100k points has booked a return to Perth from London. 3 of the legs happen to be w/ Quantas, but the last leg from s/pore to LDN is with BA. He has tried to use his points to upgrade this leg but BA have refused even though he has been told he is the "first person to try to book an upgrade with points".

Any advice on how he can use his points legitimately to upgrade.

Must admit have got P***ed off with BAs Exec club as increasingly difficult to use points outside of Europe. Am now trying silverjet for the first time later this month.
