My problem dates a few weeks back. On June 24th, my flight BA 905 (FRA-LHR) was cancelled 12 hours before departure - I got a text msg from BA at 2am telling me my flight at 2pm got cancelled.
Of course, BA did NOT inform me electronically that they put me on LH instead. I only found out after I booked a more expensive LH myself.
At least BA compensated me for the unused section and 5000 BA miles - only after I complained, obviously, because they said it's one of their board's priority (

) issues...
NOW my question: weren't I entitled to compensation after EU rules of 250 EURO? Can I still claim this despite the bonus BA miles?
