Must be quite eerie flying a completely empty 747. Also, whilst I can understand the rationale behind flying out a plane empty from LHR in order to fly pax back from some outstation, why do it the other way round. Surely it can just wait on the ground wherever it is and wait for a crew to be ready for it. Or are they that strapped at LHRs for 747s that this is what has to be done?
