Another sad example of SAS public relation departments sc*ewed things up. Yesterday it was all fine and no disturbances planned. Today they are forced to ground the entire fleet!
Probably a smart decision but the publicity around this will kill a lot of trust in the airline.
It is also "nice" to see that today they call this situation extra ordinary and thus not granting any compensation to passengers:
Passenger expenses
- No economical compensation will be granted due this extraordinary situation (EC-regulations)
- Hotel, Food & Beverage (coupons) will be offered if necessary at the airport
- No own arrangement (car-rentals) allowed. Always contact a SAS employee
- Lost income due the situation will not be accepted
I guess they get away with since according to Ritzau Bombardier has forced all Q400 to be stopped from flying.
The main thing, however, is that all onboard made it safely out of the aircraft.
