Hong Kong International Airport Frequent Visitor Card with Partner
I applied for and received a Hong Kong International Airport Frequent Visitor Card last year, which really speeds entry and exit. However, I brought my partner with me on a trip. We entered with no problem: I showed my card to arrival immigration and was zipped through. But for our flight home, the immigration agent said that the card was only for use by the card-holder and immediate family (including spouses). After I kept insisting that my partner was my spouse, he finally relented and told me to fill out a sheet with my partner's details, and then let us use the KHIA FV lane. He seemed quite confused and flustered though, asking "really?!" and also if my partner was my wife ("Husband", I told him).
Is this a new thing? Is there a way to amend my card so I can bring my partner though without hassle in the future?
