A quick update for anyone who is interested. I booked my car for 45 mins before my flight departed and then worried all day about whether I had enough time. It arrived early and took just over 10 mins from E14 to LCY. SSCI machines are located directly as you enter LCY so are impossible to miss. Boarding pass and receipt printed without problems, security cleared in 3 minutes, flight was announced as boarding when I cleared security. Despite a relatively light load and closing the doors ahead of time we departed 20 mins late but made up the time en route. The food was quite good (the best I have had in CE for a while) although is it really asking too much expecting drinks to be chilled?

Service was perfunctory and the crew retired to the galley, closed the curtain and spent the rest of the flight eating leftover CE food and crew meals. Additional service was summoned quite easily via the call bell however.

All in not a bad flight and one of my better BA flights in a while, getting from aircraft to taxi in MAD in under 10 mins.
