Several years ago I had my only (to date) experience departing for the US from FRA. I had allowed time to get to the airport about 2 hours before departure time, but encountered a traffic jam upon approaching the airport, which added maybe 45 minutes or so to our arrival time at the airport. Still made the flight, but it was fairly close.

I later mentioned this to my boss, who at the time had a lot of experience making that flight, and he said "Yeah, I always leave early because of that."

At the time I took that to mean one might commonly anticipate such a traffic jam getting into FRA in the morning, but I've read nothing about it in FT posts, so it makes me wonder if that day was not typical.

Any advice from those with recent experience?
