Note there's a comment in the original article as to whether it would be best to use KL/AF or a partner. I thought from the outset it looked like KL/AF would offer some of their slots to a US carrier to operate the routes. DL was the first to be mentioned, especially given their "investment" in buying the JFK route off UA...

Which is precsiely what it says in the Torygraph anyway...
