I just learned something new: If you type the letters quickly, they are interpreted as the first letters of the city. If you're slow, each letter is interpreted as the first letter of the city.
That functionality is good enough for me. Thanks to all who posted and added nuances to the answer!
For Web forms that I navigate repeatedly, I prefer to switch to keyboard navigation rather than having to use the mouse. This functionality -- which wasn't particularly intuitively obvious -- allows me to stick to the keyboard. Good stuff....
