From the airlines perspective UA is going to change that availability of 23-25 open seats by eliminating them from the aircraft during the upcoming changes to their international fleet. The 747 will go from 73 seats to 52 seats. This will make upgrades more difficult but should increase the overall revenue of the flight due to higher demand for paid seats.
