Well, I was bummed that the refunds were done on April 1, when my trip was in May, but that's life. I did learn about it in advance, but not sure where. Actually, I thought here on flyertalk but it could have been at lonelyplanet.

My trip was already planned by then but I always have a little in the travel budget for the unexpected. My previous trip to Alberta was well under budget, so I can't really gripe too much. In fact, I'm thinking the Point Pelee trip was under budget too, so maybe my "fudge factor" is too generous. Probably when I originally planned the trip, I was going to bring back some wine, but what with the liquid ban, I could not do that.
