Kurt: all points well taken.
I'm harsh on them because I am used to the good C config. on the 3-class 777.

I wonder why UA does not get 777-300s, the stretched version? With this aircraft, you can afford a decent F section in the two-class configuration. If Thai can find a use for them in their domestic market, UA probably could too.

This does not bode very well for seating configurations aboard the A3XX, if it ever makes it to UA.
