Why doesn't southwest.com give the option of typing in airport codes?

(I searched but couldn't find postings on this topic.)

I don't understand why southwest.com doesn't give the option of letting frequent travelers specify the airport codes for origin and destination by typing in the actual codes instead of having to scroll through and then select from the selection boxes. I can understand if they want the selection boxes to be the default method for the less-frequent traveler, but they could make the airport codes text entry boxes appear only if somebody selects the check box for it.

Did I miss any previous discussion on this, and/or can anybody think of a reason why Southwest hasn't implemented this?
