Given all the recent bad LHR performance stats on luggage making it between the terminals without going astray ...

In the following situation:

ARR: Transatlantic flight arriving mid-pm in T1
... connecting to ...
DEPT: European flight departing - 125 min later - from T4

Would you recommend checking the luggage through or picking it up in T1 and checking it in again in T4 ... to reduce the risk of loss ? Any other considerations and/or recommendations ?
