As someone who just finished an internship in a Congressional office, this is likely true. If you want a Congressional office to actually listen, the best thing to do is to call the DC office and ask to speak to the legislative assistant who handles TSA. Give that person the 2-minute rundown of what the many issues are with them. It will likely be an eye-opener for him/her.
