I had to reread it again a few more times to finally get what she might have been trying to say:

"My son's cell phone charger was taken away by airline security, on a recent flight we had the same type of charger and airline security didn't say anything. So why did airline security take the charger this time?"

I'm not sure why they took it away, the TSA is prone to making up and changing the rules at will all the time. Did he ask why they were taking it away, or explained it to him? Or did they just take it away without saying anything?
