This is by far the preferred routing for business traffic. Far Eastern does it jointly with MU. It is a much more efficient airport for transfer, and the routing (incluidng transit) is much less prone to delays.
As an earlier post said, the PVG-HKG corridor is terribly congested. I believe PVG-Macau takes a different, inland and more direct path.
