Agreed. Last year we received an offer from American Express. I believe it was a $1,000 Saks giftcard for the purchase of a new Mercedes with down payment charged on American Express. The offer noted that each dealer determined the maximum amount that could be charged. The car was not a cost effective replacement for my MetroPass, and I did not buy one .
