Seeing this and WN's Ding fares for September -- I'm flying MHT-LAX this week for $147, all-in, RT -- we may infer that September ridership is pretty weak, this year. It looks as though October is following suit, given Ding's advance look. And it's a bit unusual for United (Skies) to be running a commercial here. Wonder what's up. Anyway, good news for those of us who aren't the reason for this (e.g., we're still flying).
Not necessarily running a commercial, just saw that there are good E-Fares to popular cities like LAX, BOS, LGA, DCA/IAD from Chicago, which have been missing for a while now probably due to high loads during the summer. United posted record August load factors... so probably no need to offer E-Fares. But as the fall travel season is upon us very shortly, perhaps there may be opportunity to beef up E-Fares.
