Do you get more of a 3rd degree if you answer one way instead of the other?

I write a column for a magazine and part of my trips are spend doing business and part of the time it is vacation. Any particular trip could be 50-50 business-pleasure. To me it shouldn't make a difference for the $800 allowance (or $200 if within 30 days of another trip) but does it make a difference how you answer this question to any other way you are treated during the customs procedure when entering the US?
I asked this recently. No, you don't get the third degree either way. Just be truthful. Say business, then explain if you have to. With that form, they're only trying to direct their questioning to determine if you're smuggling radioactive crack or not.
