You should have backtracked to MSP so that you were on one of the A330's, if they are still on that route. I think I've been on every type of aircraft they fly except for the 757's and those were ok. No water bottles is something that I've noticed on NW/KL, really annoying since you can't just stick a cup into the seatback for a quick sip later on.
