We had actually purchased about 25 UAL E-tickets on-line for January travel, not only for myself, but for various other employees and I simply won't be available at the time they travel. To avoid nightmares for everyone, UAL says that if I stop by when I am at the airport with the a list of the record locators and the credit card, they can mark each record with a statement that the card has been verified prior to flight time.
Why is UAL the only airline that seems to have this problem? Are they?

PremEx, I don't know if the 1k/PremEx information valid or not. While several reservations agents and the RCC agents have confirmed that during their training, they are instructed that the checking of the credit cards can be substituted by showing a 1k or PremEx card, it is all too readily apparent that many UAL employees have not been so instructed. That is the reason I wanted to see it in writing.

This whole incident amazed me because I always buy on-line E-tickets for everybody (literally hundreds of them in 1999) and never has anyone, including me, been asked for the credit card.
