If you don't have the right credit card, You Can't Fly??

@&*#@#(@#&)($)%*#$*#$ AAAARRRRRRGH!!!

This morning I get to the airport a little late (as usual) and run to reach the gate with 5 minutes to spare. Not a bad srint for an old lady.

But wait, they want to see the credit card used to purchase the ticket??? What? I don't have that credit card with me. (Actually reservations told me that 1k and PremEx members are exempt from that rule.) Well these guys must have skipped that class so I have to go to customer (NO) service.

This less than perfect gentleman says he could reissue a new ticket to a credit card in my possession for the same price as the previous ticket. Great, I say, just Hurry Please, as my plane is scheduled to leave 5 minutes ago. Fortunately it is a little late.

He messes around for about 5 more minutes and then says it will be an additional $300.00. I really don't think so. He then says he needs to talk to my in-house ticketing agent to get the same discount rate. I give him our office number and he proceeds to spend another 5 minutes talking to Jane and still has made no progress at all. Now I am getting nervous.

Unable to curb my impatience any longer and afraid I might be tempted to speak in an unpleasant manner, I simply picked up my ID, PremEx Card and credit card and split for the RCC. Thanks to the RCC Angels who informed me that the gate agents are suffering from Y2Krazy, I had my board pass in hand in less than 2 minutes and ran back to the gate, just in time to jump on board before they closed the door and we took off (thankfully this time) 20 minutes late.

Have any of you experienced this? Does anyone know where it is printed that 1k and PremEx members are expempt?

Now I must go drink a glass of very nice wine and forget my last flying day of the year.
